General Statement of Duties

Represent Swiftel Communications as a professional Inside Sales Supervisor. Monitor sales performance, customer service and store administration functions for Swiftel Communications/Sprint. Supervise, direct and coordinate personnel for Sprint storefront activities. Consistently strive to update level of knowledge on all Sprint products and services. Support the mission statement of Brookings Municipal Utilities.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Plan, organize, and direct retail store activities and management of storefront and sales activity.

  2. Administer programs and introduce policies to accommodate new and growing products and services.

  3. Supervise and coordinate the activities and schedules of inside sales personnel. Manage incoming phone and walk-in traffic flow and adjust work force accordingly.

  4. Develop and/or present training for Sprint marketing programs within the store.

  5. Set goals and quotas for inside sales staff. Monitor sales performance and motivate inside sales staff to achieve sales goals.

  6. Perform customer service functions.

  7. Initiate personnel activities such as hiring, training, coaching, promotion and termination of staff.

  8. Proactively manage subscriber churn by implement customer retention programs and techniques.

  9. Act as liaison with other departments and coordinate activities to efficiently execute company objectives.

  10. Assess training needs and recommend company sponsored training opportunities.

  11. Initiate self-study on products and services offered by Swiftel Communications and Sprint. Read industry literature to keep abreast of current and future trends in the industry.

  12. Coordinate Business to Business sales activities in market with B2B Account Executive and Sprint Sales Manager.

  13. Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.


Education and/or Experience

  1. High School Diploma or G.E.D.

  2. Graduation from college or university with a bachelor’s degree in business administration or the equivalent thereof or an acceptable combination of high school education and experience in retail management, customer services and sales.

  3. Employee must possess the knowledge or the ability to learn BMU, Swiftel Communications and Sprint policies and procedures.

  4. Must have experience operating various office equipment including personal computer.

  5. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with co-workers, clients, and to work as a supportive team member.


Language Skills

  1. Ability to read and comprehend simple to complex instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

  2. Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally.


Certification, Testing and Examination

  1. Possession of a valid driver’s license.

  2. Other such testing as deemed necessary by Brookings Municipal Utilities/Swiftel Communications.

  4. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
